Tarsin® – Supplementary feed for racing pigeons and ornamental birds

Tarsin® is a versatile supplementary feed for racing pigeons and ornamental birds, used successfully for more than 15 years to support intestinal health, energy metabolism, condition and performance. Originally developed to enhance the activity of lactic acid bacteria (lactobacilli), Tarsin® has evolved into a true all-round supplement suitable for breeding, racing and moulting periods.

Tarsin® contains carefully selected plant-based ingredients that serve as a prebiotic food source for lactobacilli (e.g. when used in combination with Ac-i-prim®). When combined with Fru-tin-fluid®, the multiplication of lactobacilli in the small intestine can increase significantly.

Composition and Mode of Action

Tarsin® supports multiple physiological functions due to its balanced formulation:

• Prebiotic vegetables support a healthy intestinal flora and enhance probiotic effectiveness

• Lecithin and carnitine promote smooth fat metabolism and provide additional energy

• Proteins of natural origin contribute to a balanced amino acid profile

• Green-lipped mussel (Perna canaliculus) supplies glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), omega-3 fatty acids and supports joints, connective tissue and cartilage

• Vitamin E and selenium help protect fatty substances from free radicals

• Trace elements in both inorganic and organically bound (chelated) form ensure optimal absorption and balanced metabolism

Thanks to this combination, Tarsin® goes far beyond basic prebiotic support and contributes to fertility, chick development, motivation and endurance, even under demanding racing conditions.

Use and Application

For optimal results, it is recommended to bind Tarsin® to the feed using Fru-tin-fluid®. This ensures good adhesion to the feed and allows feed to be prepared several days in advance.
The full effect of Tarsin® is best achieved when fed both in the morning and evening and when used for 10–14 days in combination with a lactobacilli product such as Ac-i-prim®.

During preparation for the racing season, Tarsin® is an ideal complement to Magnesi-a-gold®, particularly due to the joint-supporting properties of green-lipped mussel.

Dosage

Racing Pigeons

• Breeding: 1 level measuring scoop per kg of grain feed daily throughout the breeding period

• Racing season:

  • 2 level scoops per kg of grain feed for 2–3 consecutive days, preferably before the weekend

  • After very demanding flights: during the first 2 days after return

• Moulting:

  • 1–2 scoops per kg of grain feed for at least 3 days per week, or

  • 1 scoop per kg of grain feed daily

Ornamental Birds

• Breeding (or preparation) and moulting:

  • 1–2 level scoops per kg of grain, soft or seed feed

• Rearing or egg feed:

  • 4 lightly heaped scoops per kg of feed

Tarsin® can also be used outside breeding, racing and moulting periods for general support.
