Immun-o-flash® – Feed Supplement to Support the Immune System
Immun-o-flash® is a feed supplement for racing pigeons, ornamental birds and poultry.
Its special composition can have a positive effect on metabolism and naturally supports the immune system.
Immun-o-flash® is also suitable for:
-
Terrarium animals
-
Small rodents
-
Pet rabbits
The immune system plays a crucial role in the body. It protects against environmental influences and helps recognize harmful microorganisms and viruses. A well-functioning immune system is therefore essential for overall resistance and vitality.
Background and Mode of Action
The immune system does not function at a constant level. It has active and resting phases. Long-term stress factors or persistent irritation can weaken the immune system, making animals more susceptible to infections, including viral diseases.
In birds, the following viral infections are commonly encountered:
-
APV (Avian Polyoma Virus) – can cause high mortality rates in young birds
-
PBFD (Circovirus) – known for beak and feather disorders and associated with young pigeon disease
-
PDD (Bornavirus) – the cause of proventricular dilatation disease in parrots and parakeets
Immun-o-flash® was originally developed to support long-term immune challenges and is based on a combination of immune-supporting components derived from natural food sources. Over the years, its range of applications has expanded thanks to positive practical experience in pigeons, birds and other animals.
Use and Important Notes
Immun-o-flash® is a supplement, not a medicine. It supports metabolism and the natural immune defense.
In animals with a weakened intestinal flora, it is recommended to use Immun-o-flash® simultaneously with a probiotic, such as Ac-i-prim®, for a minimum of 10 days.
Immun-o-flash® can be safely administered over extended periods. The duration of use depends on the objective and desired level of support.
Use by Animal Species
Racing Pigeons
Breeding birds
-
Administer 2–3 weeks before breeding, preferably also during egg laying
-
Can be used several times per year
Young pigeons
-
Via parent feed for 7–14 days after hatching, combined with Ac-i-prim®
-
After weaning: administer intermittently (every 6–8 weeks) for 7–14 days
-
In case of sensitivity to young pigeon disease: at least 14 days, minimum 8 weeks before the first flights, preferably together with Ac-i-prim®
Flying season (old and young pigeons)
-
Administer for 2–3 weeks, 4–6 weeks before the flying season
-
Stop approximately 1 week before training flights
-
Can be given again briefly after demanding flights or in cases of exhaustion (2–3 days, 3–4 times per season)
Ornamental Birds
Breeding birds
-
Add to grain, egg food or soft food for approx. 3 weeks
-
After a 3-week break, repeat for 7–14 days
-
Preferably start at least 3 weeks before egg laying and continue during the laying period
-
This cycle can be safely repeated several times per year
Young birds
-
First brood: via parent feed for at least 10 days
-
Second and third broods: support may help during increased viral sensitivity
-
In case of PBFD risk: continue use from hatching until fledging
Very good results have been observed when combined with equal parts of Frucht-mash and Tarsin.
Poultry (chickens, quails, pheasants, turkeys, guinea fowl)
Poultry are often exposed to continuous stress due to infection pressure, parasites, vaccination programs and housing conditions. A well-functioning immune system can provide valuable support.
-
Young animals: from the first days of life for 10–14 days
-
Adult animals: 10–14 days, repeatable every 6–8 weeks
➡ No withdrawal period for meat or eggs, as Immun-o-flash® consists exclusively of natural ingredients.
Terrarium Animals, Small Rodents and Pet Rabbits
In these animals, the immune system may also be challenged by:
-
transport and environmental stress
-
changes in feed
-
breeding
-
coat, skin or scale changes
Use:
-
Initially add Immun-o-flash® to the feed
-
After a break of approx. 3 weeks, administer again for about 1 week
-
This application can be repeated several times per year
-
The longer the interval between applications, the longer the administration period may be
Dosage and Administration
-
Recommended dosage: 8–10 g Immun-o-flash® per kg of grain feed
-
When used in seed or rearing feed, the dosage may be slightly increased, provided feed intake remains adequate
-
1 level measuring scoop = 3 g → approx. 3 scoops per kg of feed
No known adverse effects from overdosing, even with prolonged use.
For optimal adhesion to the feed, the use of Fru-tin-fluid® is recommended. For individual applications, Immun-o-flash® can also be sprinkled dry over the feed or mixed in.
