Ac-i-prim® – Probiotic feed supplement with Lactobacillus acidophilus
Ac-i-prim® is a feed supplement containing live lactic acid bacteria (lactobacilli), specially developed for ornamental birds, flying pigeons, quails and pheasants. It contains one carefully selected strain of Lactobacillus acidophilus, which has been classified by the European Authority as a zootechnical additive in the functional group intestinal stabilisers, based on extensive scientific research.
Mode of Action and Benefits
Lactobacillus acidophilus naturally supports a balanced intestinal flora and contributes to:
-
the development of a stable, less pathogenic intestinal flora, starting at an early age;
-
improved digestion of carbohydrates and a more efficient energy metabolism;
-
enhanced vitality;
-
improved utilisation of nutrients, which can positively influence egg quality and eggshell strength.
The use of Ac-i-prim® fits within a responsible feeding strategy aimed at reducing the need for antibiotics.
Why a Single Bacterial Strain?
Ac-i-prim® contains only one specific lactic acid bacteria strain. Multiple strains can interfere with each other’s effectiveness. This specific Lactobacillus acidophilus strain originates from the natural intestinal environment of the target species and is capable of attaching to intestinal receptors, leaving less room for undesirable bacteria.

Anna Maria ter Veer –
Ac-i-prim works for my budgies, but is not as good as PT-12 (the predecessor of ac-i-prim). It seems to me that the Lactobacillus Acidophilus bacteria in ac-i-prim are less succesful in colonizing the gut of budgies with good bacteria than the Lactobacillus Salivarius bacteria in PT-12 did. But the product is far better for budgies than other probiotics on the market, that contain bacteria that should not be given to budgies according to my bird vet.

Zelfde beoordeling als de 18 gr. Regularisatie darmflora bij valkparkieten (bv. na antibioticakuur of gewoon bij waterige uitwerpselen zonder ziektesymptomen). Werkt goed.
